XiaoGPT
Connect an existing XiaoAI speaker to a language model while retaining its voice input.

What changes for this device
Before
The original speaker's conversation abilities depend on vendor services. The owner wants to retain its familiar microphone and playback interface.
After
A bridge on an external host forwards voice requests to the configured language model and plays the answer through the speaker.
Most of the work and cost lie in the always-on host, interface configuration and troubleshooting. The README's LX06 example establishes a concrete configuration route, not compatibility with every XiaoAI model or account region. Changes to Xiaomi interfaces may break the bridge. Validate the account, model parameters and one complete question-and-answer exchange before planning continuous operation.
A good fit for
Owners of a matching speaker who can run a Python service and accept Xiaomi cloud dependencies.
Not a good fit for
People requiring fully offline operation, no always-on host, or a fix for a physical hardware fault.
Proposed reproduction checks
- Record the hardware model and account region, then complete one end-to-end exchange.
- Disconnect the model backend and verify that failures are recognized instead of waiting indefinitely.
- Stop the bridge and check the original speaker functions.
These hardware checks have not been performed by this catalog.

- Soldering
- Not required
- Cloud API / service
- Xiaomi service required; model cloud service optional

Possible additional costs
- Always-on host
- Model/TTS services that may incur usage charges
Prices have not been checked. An open-source license does not make hardware, hosting, electricity or cloud services free.
Risks and recovery
Data-loss risk: Possible; Bricking risk: Workflow-dependent. Route-based guidance, not hardware-tested; these outcomes are not inevitable for every device.
Stopping the bridge stops forwarding requests; this route does not replace speaker firmware.

An unarchived repository or recent push does not prove a model works. Mirror migration does not mean development has stopped.
A root license or README declaration does not establish the same license for firmware, models, brands and third-party components.
