Open-XiaoAI

Take over a supported XiaoAI speaker's microphone and playback path to connect external AI services.

What changes for this device

Before

The aim is to take over the XiaoAI audio path rather than bridge only through cloud conversation records.

After

Patched firmware and a client on specific speakers send audio to external processing services.

Documentation distinguishes LX06 from OH2P. The LX06 route involves disassembly and Micro USB; OH2P instructions use Type-C. Never apply one model's wiring or image to the other. The official dual-partition recovery approach may help only if the original partition remains intact. The archived repository should be treated as a historical engineering project whose dependencies you may need to maintain yourself.

A good fit for

Experimenters who can identify the exact model, understand firmware partitions and prepare recovery materials.

Not a good fit for

Owners of their only daily-use speaker who cannot accept downtime or cannot confirm model and firmware.

Proposed reproduction checks

  • Record model and firmware before flashing; confirm original-partition backups and the recovery path.
  • Verify audio capture and playback before connecting AI services.
  • Check connection recovery after reboot and retain a configuration that can be rolled back.

These hardware checks have not been performed by this catalog.

Risks and recovery

Data-loss risk: Possible; Bricking risk: Possible. Route-based guidance, not hardware-tested; these outcomes are not inevitable for every device.

The official flash.md describes dual system partitions and switching back to boot1. This depends on the original partition remaining intact and has not been hardware-tested here.

Evidence and maintenance

The README explicitly limits support to two Pro speakers and links firmware, client and server steps. The repository is archived, but historical deployment material remains.

Catalog hands-on testing: not performed. Independent reproduction: not verified.

An unarchived repository or recent push does not prove a model works. Mirror migration does not mean development has stopped.

A root license or README declaration does not establish the same license for firmware, models, brands and third-party components.
